See the catalogs to see what you might sniff out on your miniature adventures.The Power in an ItemThe mechanics of an item are at once loose, and limiting. How will you wield your inventory to further yourself? If it makes sense, go for it! Items can be traded in, lost, used in unconventional ways, and even broken in the course of your adventure. Likewise, this isn't a comprehensive list of every single item that you can find or make (I don't have that kind of time) but more of a listing meant to help mods and players come up with ideas. Let the guidelines here provide a structure for you to build on, rather than one to limit you. An Explanation of Terms
Item Name | An obvious one - the name of the item in question. | Range | Typically only applied to weaponry, "Range" refers to how far an item can reach. If you use an item when you're closer than the item's range allows, your opponent gets a guaranteed hit on you. If you're too far, you must use an action to get close enough (Giving your opponent a chance to strike you.) | Touch | An item to be used in extremely close quarters, such as a dagger or brass knuckles. | Close | An item to be used at arm's length, like a shortsword or club. | Long | An item with a long reach, such as a whip or spear. | Ranged | Weapons best used at a distance, such as a throwing dagger or bow. | Item Type | Another obvious one - what kind of item is this? | Rarity | There is no formal monetary system among the mice, but certain items are rarer (And therefore worth more) than others. | Tags | A special tag that denotes an important feature of an item. (Range) is considered a tag, for example. (Armor-Piercing) is another. Common items have one tag - the more tags an item has, the rarer it is. | Common | An item easily found. Has only one tag. | Uncommon | An item that is somewhat unusual to find. Has two tags. | Rare | An item that is very difficult to find. Has three tags. | Legendary | An item that is one-of-a-kind. Has four tags. | Damage | The amount of damage a weapon does, represented as a dice number (Such as 1d4.) Roll the appropriate dice to see how much vitality your foe loses. | Durability | Applied to armor and shields - this number reflects how much damage the item can absorb from a hit before breaking. If a shield's durability is 2 and you block a hit that would've done 3 damage, your shield will break! Note that shields can only absorb damage with a successful Block action, and both shields and armor can only be used where it makes sense in context. A doublet will not protect your feet. |
